Welcome to 708Bricks!

Welcome to 708Bricks! Our blog is dedicated to keeping you up-to-date on the process and progress of our home renovation project.

It all started with our shared love of old homes. Shortly before getting married in 2006 we bought of our first home together, an adorable 1938 Bungalow in East Nashville. The charm of old homes soon drove us to renovate two fixer-upers in our neighborhood which was a challenging and exciting experience. Tearing down walls doesn't scare us a bit!

When the opportunity arose to own a historic family home, we knew we could't pass it up. What made it even more exciting was that this 1887 house was originally a dormitory for a divinity school at Cumberland University.

There seems to be a tradition in the "Foutch" family...move into your grandparents' house. John's parents live in his father's grandparent's house, John's sister lives in her grandmother's house, and now....it's our turn!
